StompBox
was formed in the mid 1990’s by founding members Greg Gaddis (Guitar) and
John Cornett (Bass), both from Scott County, IN. Their relationship
as musicians and friends goes back to the early eighties when they were
part of a popular local band known as The Syndicate. StompBox started
off as a blues-based power trio that included drummers Richard Hendrix
(also of The Syndicate), and later Clint Spicer.
In
2002, StompBox teamed up with current drummer, Mike “Chet” Dalgleish from Dupont, IN.
Chet has 30+ years of experience with many styles of music from 60’s Rock,
Southern Rock, Classic Rock, Blues, and Texas Swing. Chet started
playing in 1975 with a band called Power Plant. Other bands include
Roadwork and the Blues Devils.
2006
saw the latest addition to the band... keyboardist Ryan Pivonka from Columbus, IN.
Ryan’s 15 years of training on the instrument has proven to be a great
asset to the band. In addition to the fine organ and piano parts that
Ryan adds to the mix, you will hear sounds of a full orchestra, sirens,
bagpipes, and even the occasional helicopter!
The
current lineup of StompBox allows the band to explore many styles of music.
In addition to the Blues, StompBox can crank out some great Classic,
Southern, and Hard Rock. StompBox can get Funky, and will even throw in
a Slow Dance tune to let you catch your breath. You will find StompBox in
fine venues across the Louisville, Kentucky and Southern Indiana
area.
As
many an excited fan has exclaimed…”StompBox Rocks !!!”
